AMA Foundation Executive Director Steve Haston was inspired by his wife, Missy, to create the new AMA Foundation Copilot Recognition Program.

The AMA Foundation is built on the belief that model aviation is more than a pastime. It is a lifelong source of learning, innovation, community, and inspiration. Few people embody that belief more fully than Dan Bott.

In the fall of 2025, the AMA Foundation was awarded a $13,000 grant from the Sherman and Marjorie Zeigler Foundation. Multiple improvements have been made to AMAs campus thus far.
