Communications Specialist
Hello! My name is Clarissa Poston and I'm the AMA Foundation communications specialist. I'm extremely excited to work alongside AMA Foundation staff to strengthen, further, and spread the hobby that we all know and love.
Before starting my career within the AMA Foundation, I worked in the AMA Publications department for two years. While there, I assisted with editing and writing content for both Model Aviation and Park Pilot, prior to its discontinuance. In addition, I led the online NatsNews blog process, during which I got to connect with hobbyists from across the country and went on-site to cover events held at the International Aeromodeling Center. Going out on-site and forming relationships with AMA members throughout these events was something that I enjoyed immensely, and I'm extremely excited to start doing more of that in this role!
In 2022, when I first joined AMA's workforce, I didn't have an understanding of just how widespread the hobby and sport of model aviation was. Throughout my employment, I've learned an immense amount about the hobby and what it means to our members and donors, and I've enjoyed every second of it!
I look forward to meeting new faces, learning more about the world of model aviation, and working alongside the AMA Foundation to inspire, build, and sustain the future of our hobby.
