Chief Communications Officer
Hello! My name is Clarissa Poston and I'm the AMA Foundation Chief Communications Officer. I've been part of the AMA Foundation since December 2024, and I've enjoyed all of the unique projects, goals, and programs that this organization brings.
Before starting my career within the AMA Foundation, I worked in the AMA Publications department for two years. While there, I assisted with editing and writing content for both Model Aviation and Park Pilot, prior to its discontinuance. In addition, I led the online NatsNews blog process, during which I got to connect with hobbyists from across the country, and went on-site to cover events held at the International Aeromodeling Center. Going out to these events and forming relationships with AMA members throughout them was something that I enjoyed immensely, and getting to do more of that in this role has been extremely fulfilling!
In 2022, when I first joined AMA's workforce, I didn't have an understanding of just how widespread the hobby and sport of model aviation was. Throughout my employment, I've learned an immense amount about the hobby and what it means to our members and donors, and I've enjoyed every second of it! I continuously look forward to meeting new faces, learning more about the world of model aviation, and working alongside the AMA Foundation to inspire, build, and sustain the future of our hobby.
