GivingTuesday is a worldwide day of giving that is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. Since its inception in 2012, GivingTuesday has given people the opportunity to make generous gifts to causes they care about, which has culminated in billions of dollars being contributed to nonprofit organizations around the world. This year, GivingTuesday will be celebrated on December 1.
This year, the AMA Foundation is excited to once again take part in this global day of generosity. We have set a fundraising goal of $5,000 to help support AMA's programs, such as scholarships, the National Model Aviation Museum, various AMA/AMA Foundation grants, building the AMA Foundation's endowment to help secure the future of model aviation, and so much more.
To help us celebrate this day and make it as impactful as possible, the AMA Foundation is proud to donate a portion of this year's GivingTuesday proceeds to the Honor Flight Network, helping to honor and celebrate our nation's veterans. Honor Flight Network is a national nonprofit organization comprised of independent hubs working together to achieve the Honor Flight mission: celebrating America's veterans by inviting them to share in a day of honor at our nation's memorials.
This fundraiser holds special meaning for the AMA community, as many AMA members and hobbyists have proudly served our country. By supporting Honor Flight Network, we're giving back to those who have given so much all while celebrating the community of veterans who are an important part of our model aviation community.
This year, 10% of all money raised on GivingTuesday will be donated to Honor Flight Network.
