On Monday, April 7, AMA and the AMA Foundation received a visit from Fly Wing RC and Lymow, two companies created by modelers. During this visit, both companies discussed new projects and future goals with AMA and AMA Foundation staff. Lymow representatives, first-time AMA Headquarters visitors, also received a tour of AMA's campus, including the National Model Aviation Museum.
During Lymow's visit to AMA HQ, they discussed their new product: the Lymow One Robotic Mower. Before their visit's end, Lymow representatives announced that they would be donating two Lymow One Robotic Mowers to AMA. One of the mowers will be used on AMA property to assist with the upkeep of flying fields, specifically that of Site 4.
"We are excited to see the many benefits of partnering with Lymow unfold," said AMA Foundation Deputy Director Rachelle Haughn. "This relationship will benefit many AMA members, donors, and clubs."
The second donated robotic mower will be utilized by the AMA Foundation in an upcoming public sweepstakes event—keep an eye out for an exciting announcement on how you could win a Lymow One Robotic Mower for your home or club field!
"On behalf of AMA, we are incredibly grateful for the recent donation of the Lymow One autonomous lawnmower," said AMA Interim Executive Director Tyler Dobbs. "This cutting-edge technology will play a vital role in maintaining Site 4's grounds with greater efficiency. By reducing lawn maintenance costs and staff time, we can better allocate resources toward other critical needs, ensuring our members have a well-kept and enjoyable space for their model aircraft activities."
Lymow was founded in 2022 and envisions a future where technology is accessible and practical for everyone. We at AMA and the AMA Foundation couldn't be more grateful to receive such an advanced product to utilize throughout our 1,100-acre property.
