One of the 55 AMA Introductory Pilot Program Clubs that received a Club Training Day Starter Kit is AMA District I's Northern Connecticut Radio Control Club (NCRCC). Club Secretary Bill Cranford provided a write-up about how his club has successfully utilized its kit:
"NCRCC has gained members through our Try-N-Fly events. The Garrett family attended one of these events. Chris and his children received ground school, simulator training, and then flew with club members on buddy box systems. They experienced flying different high-wing trainer-style aircraft for the first time.

"The Garrett family soon became club members after joining AMA and regularly attends our monthly club meetings. The Garrett family has been a great addition to our club, and we appreciate their volunteerism. Most monthly meetings, they bring fresh-baked brownies to share that disappear quickly.
"Father Chris Garrett was a quick study, flying with introductory pilot instructor Kevin Cyr. Chris quickly became an introductory pilot instructor himself. Chris' children, Clare, Emerson, and Celeste, continue to enjoy flying our club AeroScout, thanks to the AMA student pilot program. Emerson has received his club solo certificate. Celeste was presented with her solo certificate during our most recent September club meeting."

Thank you, Bill, for providing this write-up! The AMA Foundation is thrilled to hear that the Club Training Day Starter Kit has been such a valuable resource in NCRCC's training efforts.
The AMA Foundation is eager to hear how other AMA Introductory Pilot Program clubs have utilized their Club Training Day Starter Kits. If your club received a kit, let Chief Communications Officer Clarissa Poston know how it was utilized by emailing clarissap@modelaircraft.org.
