Due to the success of our inaugural Club Training Day Starter Kit initiative in 2025, the AMA Foundation is offering two iterations of Club Training Day Starter Kits throughout 2026!
Applications for the first iteration of these kits, focused on Free Flight and sponsored by Horizon Hobby, opened on April 15 and closed on April 29. Eighty-eight kits were made available to eligible AMA Introductory Pilot Program Clubs on a first-come, first-served basis. Throughout the application timeframe, three districts reached their maximum kit allotment of 8 kits, while other districts had a handful of kits leftover; these extra kits were given to clubs who submitted an application after their district reached its maximum kit allotment, ensuring that as many kits as possible were put to good use.
The AMA Foundation is thrilled to announce that the following 70 clubs were selected to receive a Free Flight-focused Club Training Day Starter Kit:
The above clubs quickly jumped on the opportunity to share the joy of flight with those in their communities. The AMA Foundation is extremely appreciative of these clubs and their enthusiasm for growing and strengthening the hobby of model aviation. We can't wait to see how each club chooses to utilize its kit!
