The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and the AMA Foundation are pleased to announce that with the help of your generous donations, eight graduating seniors and current college students will receive a total of $40,500 in scholarships this year.
The scholarship program, founded in 1970, awards individual scholarships ranging from $500 to $8,000 each year. Scholarship applications are evaluated by a scholarship committee and ranked based on GPA, community involvement, model flying competition participation, and involvement in aeromodeling. More than $1.35 million has been awarded to hundreds of students since the scholarship program's inception.
The 2023 scholarship recipients from across the country have a variety of interests in the hobby. Some became involved in aeromodeling through a friend or family member. Others, picked it up on their own. Regardless, AMA is happy to be able to help aspiring professionals and modelers pursue their academic goals.

Austin Ray (Cypress, TX): $2,500 Charles Hampson Grant Scholarship
Cooper Thompson (St. Simon's Island, GA): $5,000 Charles Hampson Grant Scholarship
Ashley Van Milligan (Colorado Springs, CO): $7,000 Charles Hampson Grant Scholarship
