Carson McCachern

-A A +A

Carson McCachern is a graduating senior from Deer Creek High School in Edmond, Oklahoma, where he spent the past three years as part of a Computer Science and Engineering Academy. Carson has been passionate about model airplanes ever since he was in elementary school and flies with The Oklahoma Radio Kontrol Society (TORKS) in Oklahoma City. They have recognized him for flying with them at their Lake Hefner field for six consecutive years.

Recently, he competed as a pilot for Speedfest, an RC airplane competition where teams try to complete as many 400-foot laps as possible in a 2-minute period. In addition, he recently used the skills learned as a model plane pilot to become a driver for his First Robotics team, #1561 Roboducks. Because of his skillful driving, the team recently won the Green Country Regional Competition in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and advanced to the World Competition in Houston.

Carson hopes to continue flying planes during college at Wichita State University in the fall, where he will pursue a degree in computer engineering.
