Steve Manganelli was nominated by his friend, Jeff Stover. Jeff shared the following sentiment about Steve and his support:
"Steve Manganelli was and is my good friend since grade school and we discovered aeronautics and propulsion systems and jr. engineering experiments at a very early age 10-14 and our parents were most supportive of our interests by buying us glow engines, control line kits and radio control transmitters etc. Steve and I logged many hours building kits and flying them and his knowledge and modeling skills made it possible for me to experiment and fly successfully as he helped me build and set up and launch. 53 years later we still visit and he invited me to his flying field in San Diego for some flying and to meet the super fun and talented pilots in the club. Steve rebuilt our mini bike engine at age 12 and had a real knack for mechanical systems and engines. The times spent with Steve as young boys forever shaped my interests in aviation and kindled a lifelong adventure in the world of model aviation and full scale aerospace investing. Steve has had a great career in aerospace engineering and organizer of world model airplane competitions as well as administrator at his AMA flying club. I think of all the other people out there that would call Steve a co-pilot as I am sure he has inspired many to get in the air over the last 50 years. Steve serves as the contest director for Team USA F5B electric glider racing and mentors students on the Design-Build-Fly team at San Diego State University."
