Carol Starck was nominated by her husband, Chuck Starck. Chuck shared the following sentiment about Carol and her support:
"Our first date was an airshow in South Denver area. After married, I gathered my planes from my home and they have been included along in all we do.
Airshows, Fun Flys, trips to AMA, USAF Museum, Smithsonian, Reno Air Races.
She has always been there by my side. In 1975 she encouraged me to get my pilots license and then flew by my side as copilot and companion. We traveled fun flys from New England to Yuma AZ. Spending winters in Yuma, she was at the RC field every afternoon with me and our friends in Yuma. She bakes and has water melon for all the pilots when at a fun fly. She is the daily greeter at our local Pueblo club even if we do live 100mile round trip away.
If I go, she's there. Always encourage me even if it meant carrying pieces back to the car. Then when home she encouraged and expected what was broken to be mended and back to the field. She a field 'buddy' of many of the pilots. Just a good friend. I'm very lucky.
Included photos of her as "secretary" at a fun fly making a sign, photos with flying buddys, Us with our Bellanca Viking. Photo with P-51 at Reno, Photo of her and her plane N521CL (521..May 21'st birthday, CL.. Carol Lee) taken at AMA. That's 1400 miles one way for us.
Carol Photo with Mike Barbies KingAir, She's now 80 and I'm 82, lots of years of planes!"
