Southern Minnesota Model Aircraft Club to host annual Northern Alliance Military Fly In

The Southern Minnesota Model Aircraft Club will be hosting their annual Northern Alliance Military Fly In on August 7-9. The event will take place at the club's airfield in Owatonna, MN.

The Northern Alliance Military Fly In will take place on August 7th through the 9th. The Fly In will start Friday at 8 am and end on Sunday at around 4 pm. The event will be held at the Southern Minnesota Model Aircraft Club’s Airfield in Owatonna, MN. The event is about all military aviation and welcomes all models of military aviation no matter the size. The Fly In is not about competition between the pilots. The goal for the event is for everyone, spectators and pilots alike, to have an enjoyable time. Pilots will be flying every day of the weekend-long event. On Saturday there will be a raffle throughout the day and in the evening there will be a BBQ rib dinner. An award ceremony will follow the dinner. The Southern Minnesota Model Aircraft Club (SMMAC) will proudly be supporting the Veterans Airlift Command (VAC) through the raffle on Saturday. All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to the VAC to help them in their mission to support combat wounded soldiers and their families travel comfortably, safely and with dignity to medical appointments across the nation. Click here to learn more about the VAC. In 2014, the SMMAC donated over $2,200 to the VAC and are hoping to surpass that amount at this year’s raffle. namfi-1 namfi-2 namfi-3 namfi-6 namfi-5 namfi-7 For more information on the Northern Alliance Military Fly In, click here to check out the website.
