This is Wyatt, 12 years old. Wyatt and his dad, Rob, began building a Telemaster Balsa kit in the summer of 2023. Rob had built a kit plane as a kid, and together they thought this would be a fun new project. While building the Telemaster, Wyatt learned to fly with the Walla Walla Valley Prop Twisters RC Club on an AeroScout. The RC club was instrumental in aiding the family in learning and troubleshooting to make this plane perfect.
In the winter of 2024, the Telemaster was complete, but due to weather and other factors, it didn’t have its first flight until July 2025. In July, Wyatt and his dad took their completed project on its maiden flight at a local airfield, where she flew beautifully. By this time, Wyatt had become quite the pilot and flew with the utmost joy and excitement. He finished the flight saying, "My hands! My hands are shaking.”
