In 1958, I was lucky enough to visit a MODEL airplane and Rc boat competition in HAMBURG, Germany that left an everlasting impression. After immigrating to california in 1960 I competed in control line combat and precision flying with my 3.5 diesel engine that I brought over with me. Lots of people asked me where my starter box is! 20 years later I joined DVRC model airplane club in PITTSBURG, California. There I received instruction on RC flying. 2 trainers later, I received my solo flying permit. Nowadays I have many different airplanes, including several E-powered jets. What a thrill it is to be able and fly almost any airplane with just a little training. I have been flying with the DVRC club for over 10 years.
