I started flying around 15 years ago. When I first started, I would fly anywhere with open space as I went through the process of learning to fly and then learning to repair airplanes. As my interest in the hobby grew, I eventually found and joined local club. I learned more about flying in the 1st summer in a club than I had learned the years prior to joining. Not only was I enjoying flying at an actual club, but I also discovered the camaraderie of flying with other RC enthusiasts.
As the years have gone by, I have continued to grow into the hobby. I am now President of our club, the Flying Aeros Association AMA #153. I’m also a pilot mentor and enjoy helping teaching those new to the hobby and helping those who left the hobby and are now returning. I also host indoor flying at my church during the winter months and our club has even put on flight demonstrations at our local county fair. I find RC flight a huge stress reliever and a great way to make friends, have fun, and share my faith with fellow pilots.
