Child kneeling on grass, smiling beside a large white and red model airplane.

I’ve been into model aviation for some time due to life and work. I was out of the RC modeling for about seven years as my life started to wind down a little bit. Most of my children are older. I still had some of my remote-control airplanes. My younger daughter, which is 10, had asked me about them and I told her if you’re interested we could get into it and she could learn to fly, so now here I am about seven months later.

I found a really great flying club called Fly Boyz, and they're AMA sanctioned. I have my AMA insurance and I got AMA insurance for my 10-year-old daughter, and it’s great because it’s helped give me and my 10-year-old daughter something in common. I bought her a flex 300 which she has now worked up to being able to takeoff, fly around, and land by yourself.
