Born in 1940, paralyzed from the waist down with polio in 1944 but made a remarkable recovery. Fascinated with aviation as a youngster and built many 25-cent stick/tissue/dope/rubber Free Flight models. Eventually built many Control Line semi-scale and stunt models with Fox 19 & 35 engines as the engine of choice.

Served 6 years in the U.S. Air Force with tours of duty in Turkey, Germany, and at the National Security Agency (NSA). As a civilian, I spent 39 years primarily in the Telecom industry. Got into Radio Control late in life (retirement) and at age 85 still fly regularly and am a club trainer and have served as club president, vice president, and currently treasurer. I thoroughly enjoy bringing discarded and damaged models back to their original glory.

My fleet currently consists of two 1/4-scale gassers (Decathlon & Extra 300) with an assortment of electric trainer & sport models and two 2.5-meter gliders. I get a great deal of satisfaction watching a new pilot make a successful solo. I appreciate the work AMA does to promote and advocate for the hobby that has been such an enjoyable part of my life.
