I started in this hobby when I was thirteen with a Sureflite foam Cessna, MRC four channel radio with a Enya motor and thought that it was a huge plane! Today forty-nine years later and everything I own is one fifth scale or larger with 85% being scale. In my forty-nine years of collecting/building I have amassed nearly every kit of every plane I liked that was available from the Sopwith Camel to the YF23 and have cut many more from plans either bought or designed by myself.
That collection is at approximately 160 kits and counting (with the last being a Fokke RC A4 120" L, 90 span) which doesn't include 3 cars, 1 sailboat, 16 warships and 7 helicopters and 1 sub!
My screen name says it all! I just added a mill and lathe so at sixty-two years of age I finally have a full shop! I want to thank all the greats that started this hobby both those who have past and alive for all their work and their dreams to get us where we are! My hobby heroes/motivation N Ziroli, R Vaillancourt, W Hostetler, G Miller, D Smith, J Bates, B Holman and so many more! And thank you AMA for always looking out for us and being our voice!
