I've been passionate about radio-controlled aircraft and vehicles for nearly four decades, starting my journey into the hobby at age 13. Now at 52, my enthusiasm for RC has only grown stronger over the years. As a proud member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), I've had the privilege of exploring virtually every corner of this incredible hobby.
My interests span the full spectrum of RC equipment. In the air, I fly everything from classic trainers and scale warbirds to high-performance aerobatic planes and cutting-edge FPV racing drones. On the ground, I enjoy the speed and handling of RC cars—whether it's racing on-road vehicles, bashing off-road trucks through rough terrain, or fine-tuning drift cars for precision control. I also dabble with RC boats when the opportunity arises.
The variety keeps things exciting and allows me to constantly challenge myself in different ways.
What keeps me engaged after all these years isn't just one thing, but the combination of experiences the hobby offers: the satisfaction of building and creating, the thrill of watching a plane take flight or pushing an RC car to its limits, and the camaraderie of the RC community. The technical challenges continue to captivate me, particularly in FPV drone flying where split-second decisions and precise control are essential. There's something uniquely rewarding about dialing in the perfect setup for a plane or car and seeing it perform exactly as intended.
After spending many years enjoying the hobby independently, I've recently made it a priority to become more involved with the broader RC community.
I've joined local hobby groups and am excited to connect with fellow enthusiasts, share knowledge, and learn from others' experiences. I'm also exploring platforms like YouTube to document and share my builds, flights, and driving sessions with the wider RC community. After nearly 40 years in the hobby, I'm discovering that sharing the passion with others adds a whole new dimension to what I love about RC. Whether I'm at the flying field launching a warbird, tearing up the track with an RC racer, navigating an FPV course at high speed—or occasionally crash spectacularly and enjoy the challenge of a good rebuild—there's always something new to learn, build, fly, and now, share.
