When I was in elementary school I became fascinated by Cox control line airplanes, especially the PT-19. I spent endless hours playing with those planes. I also picked up model rocketry from my brother and built many Estes and Century rockets as well as strapping motors on anything else I could launch.
In High School I begged for, and was fortunate enough to receive a Futaba 5 channel RC radio and 5 servos and I started flying RC with the Pontiac Michigan club, although I was just starting to get my hands on the sticks when College came and I had to put all that on the shelf for few decades.
Around Y2K I decided to get back in to RC and started the learning process over again, building hundreds of original foamies, 3D printed, and balsa models. I eventually became proficient and was able to complete an unfinished adolescent persuit that had haunted me.
I still fly today, focusing on Oldtimers, but enjoy many different types of airframes.
