I started flying 1/2A Control Line planes with my dad at about age 10. I built a Controlair MAN 234 proportional radio from a kit when I was a sophomore in high school. My RC aspirations were back-burnered until 1981, when I joined AMA and the Benton County Flying Tigers and learned to fly.
I started with glo powered sport models and progressed to giant scale models. I currently have a mix of gas, glo, and electrics that I fly regularly. I have been a club officer in several capacities. I have been an instructor for many students. I have presented the RC hobby to school groups and civic organizations for many years. I’m now 72 years old. This has truly been a lifelong hobby.
