The Piggot RC Modelers recently received an AMA Club Recognition and Reward Grant for $50. The club is located in Piggot, AR. The club hosted their annual spring fly-in June 2-3 at their flying field. The event had aircraft and pilots from several states who participated. The fly-in draws some of the best pilots from the region, with a variety of fixed-wing and other aircraft. During the fly-in, there was a variety of competitions, free flyings and demonstrations. The event was free for the public and concessions were available both days. The local RC modelers have been sponsoring the spring fly-in for a number of years. The AMA Club Recognition and Reward Program was established to encourage clubs to promote model aviation. The AMA offers clubs cash incentives for positive local media coverage for a public event, public service, club announcement, or other coverage. Click here to learn more about this program.
