Sabrina Fogel

Sabrina recently graduated high school in San Diego, California, where she was a Co-Founder of her school’s Aviation Club. Over the summers, she volunteered at the San Diego Air and Space Museum as a teacher’s assistant for children’s summer camps. As a TA, she hoped to inspire younger children ages 5-13 in the field of aerospace through STEM-based educational programming. She also volunteered with a local computer science education company, ThoughtSTEM, introducing computing to K-12 students.

As a third generation AMA member, she was introduced to the world of modeling by her father, Gary Fogel, at a young age and quickly learned to love model airplanes, specifically RC sailplanes and RC electric sailplanes. She also enjoys flying wings. By the age of 11, she began setting numerous AMA records for electric sailplanes including altitude, distance, and duration in youth categories. Ever since then, Sabrina has continued setting records in these categories.

Sabrina will continue her education at University of California, Santa Cruz in the fall of 2020 focusing on computer science. She hopes to someday use this skill in combination with aerospace engineering.
