Joseph Thibodeau has lived in Appling, Georgia his entire life. He graduated as Salutatorian of Harlem High School, Class of 2019. Outside of Model Aviation, Joseph also competes on a Trap Shooting Team, with many other accomplishments. He enjoys hunting, fishing, coyote trapping, spending time with family and friends, and just being outdoors. In the Fall of 2019, Joseph will start at The Georgia Institute of Technology, and major in Mechanical Engineering. After college, Joseph hopes to work for a company like Boeing, to continue his passion for aviation. Joseph began flying park flyers in 2012, and quickly became interested in Scale Aerobatics. He later joined the International Miniature Aerobatic Club (IMAC), and began competing. He has flown in the Basic, Sportsman, Intermediate, and Advanced Classes. Along with flying in over 30 contests, Joseph flew in 4 National Aeromodeling Championships, winning National Champion in Intermediate Scale Aerobatics in 2016. Joseph would like to Thank John and Tina Schroder, David Moser, and the rest of the Clover Creek Summer Students for everything they have taught him, and for allowing him to work and practice at Clover Creek Aerodrome during the summers before the NATS. In the Fall of 2017, Joseph qualified to compete in the 2018 IMAC World Championships in the Advanced Class. In the 2018 World Championships, Joseph finished in 6th place, with Team USA Winning Overall Champion.
