Each year, the AMA Foundation opens applications for the Take off And Grow (TAG) grant. Implemented in 2007, this grant was developed to encourage our members and clubs to promote aeromodeling as a positive recreational activity to those in their communities.
Clubs awarded this grant receive up to $1,000 to put toward a one-day extensive introduction of model aviation, with the intent of drawing new people into the model aviation hobby. As a bonus, any items purchased by clubs for their TAG event are theirs to keep! Consider it AMA's way of showing appreciation for helping us grow the hobby.
This year, the TAG grant application closes on April 1, 2025. Ensure that your application is submitted prior to April 1 to be eligible for grant funding! Awards will be announced in May 2025. If you have any questions throughout the application process, contact AMA Foundation Deputy Director Rachelle Haughn by emailing rachelleh@modelaircraft.org or calling (765) 287-1256, extension 221.
Since 2017, the AMA Foundation has awarded $159,000 to clubs across the country through TAG grants. Apply today, and your club could be the next to be selected for this exciting opportunity!
