Casa Grande RC Flyers Receive AMA Club Recognition and Reward Grant

-A A +A

The Casa Grande RC Flyers received an AMA Club Recognition and Reward Grant for $175. The club is located in Casa Grande, AZ.

The club gives back to their community by hosting events that benefit local charities and they hold programs at area schools and 4-H groups. A Maricopa 4-H club offered to build and install sunshades over the pilot tables this summer at the clubs field. The flying club at Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort donated their 300-by-30-foot Petromat runway to the Casa Grande RC Flyers when they lost their field due to the park expanding. The Casa Grande Home Depot donated 1,000 galvanized nails that were needed to install the additional runway. Also, Scott’s Pest control of Casa Grande donated free weed control to the club’s leased land.

The Casa Grande RC Flyers field is located across from the public shooting range on Isom Road. The club hosts events that are open to the public and a list can be found online at www. CasaGrandeRCFlyers.com. The club is AMA sanctioned and an Arizona nonprofit corporation with more than 200 members.

The AMA would like to thank the Casa Grande RC Flyers for their hard work in their community.

The AMA Club Recognition and Reward Program was established to encourage clubs to promote model aviation. The AMA offers clubs cash incentives for positive local media coverage for a public event, public service, club announcement, or other coverage. Click here to learn more about this program.
