BSU Bus Tour

On October 14, 2024, Ball State University(BSU) President Geoffrey Mearns and an entourage of BSU staff had the opportunity to visit AMA Headquarters in Muncie, Indiana. The visit was part of an ongoing collaboration between BSU and the AMA aimed at fostering interest in model aviation and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) pathways among youth. Tyler Dobbs, AMA interim director, and Steve Haston, AMA Foundation director, warmly welcomed the visitors and led them on a tour of the National Model Aviation Museum.

During the visit, Steve emphasized the AMA Foundation’s commitment to using model aviation to reach young people and provide them with the tools and knowledge to explore STEM-related fields. The BSU president expressed great enthusiasm for the experience, noting how the visit deepened his understanding of model aviation and its potential to inspire future generations. He appreciated the AMA's efforts to make STEM education accessible and engaging, highlighting the promising future of further collaborations.

This visit is just one example of the growing partnership between BSU and AMA. The ongoing work and relationship between the two organizations are vital in ensuring that the next generation has the opportunities and support needed to succeed in these important areas.
